American Bar Association Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section


Fletcher Handley has been active form many years in the Tort, Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) of the American Bar Association. He is a former Chair of the Automobile Law Committee, and testified before the US Senate Commerce Committee in 1999 on behalf of the ABA in opposition to proposed National no-fault auto insurance.

Fletcher served on the TIPS Council, 2000-2004, and is also a former Chair of the TIPS Plaintiff's Task Force. He taught and served as a Mentor at the National Trial Academy in Reno, Nevada, in 2003, and is currently a member of the National Trial Academy Board.

He has also been a member of the TIPS Scholarship Fund Board for many years and currently serves as Chair of that Board. The Scholarship Fund Board has awarded in excess of $250,000 to minority and disadvantaged lawyers over the past 10 to assist them in attending TIPS meetings and seminars, thus helping to insure diversity within the section, and equal opportunity, regardless of ethnicity, gender or practice setting.
